FRIDAY NIGHT FUN!
This weather lately has gotten me in the Fall mood. I love the cool weather and the tree's changing colors. Spencer took me on a drive last sunday and it was so beautiful, with all the different colors, I LOVED IT! The other day I walked into the grocery just to get a "few" things. When I walked out I had Caramels and Apples, and Apple Cider. I had planned that Spencer and I were going to make caramel apples sometime and last night we finally did it. I had never made caramel apples before but hey how hard could they be. Spencer bought me a new Crockpot Recipe book and I saw this recipe. So I decided to try it and it turned out DELICIOUS!! We doubled the batch so we could take some to our friends and the missionaries. It turned out a big hit. Our camera is broken right now, so I couldn't take pictures. But here is the Recipe if any of you want to try them, they are super EASY!! I think Spencer had more fun than I did, he loves treats, and he kept taking pictures on his phone and sending them to his friends. HA HA.. I think he was proud of our Masterpiece.
Favorite Caramel Apples
2 14-oz pkgs caramels, unwrapped 1/2 t. cinnamon
1/4 c. water 8 apples
8 wooden skewers (we used popsicle sticks and they worked perfect)
Combine caramels, water, and cinnamon in a slow cooker. Cover and
cook on high setting for one to 1- 1/2 hours, stirring frequently. Insert
sticks into apples. Turn slow cooker to low. Dip apples into hot caramel
and turn to coat, scraping excess caramel from bottom of apples. Place
on greased wax paper to cool. Makes 8.
Spencer and I got a little creative and I brought out the white chocolate and milk chocolate and we drizzled it on them as well. We used, all sorts of fall candy, and spencer brought out crunched butterfingers and oreos
he put some on that. They looked so good!! Funny story, we each decided that we would decorate 2 for the missionaries, since there are 4 missionaries. So I decorated mine, and I thought they looked great until I saw Spencers. He put Oreos both different chocolates, and m&m's on both of his. So I decided to put some butterfinger crumbs on one of mine. After we took the missionaries the treats he said, man I feel bad for the missionary who got the ones with the candy corns on it, it was so plain. Haha I laughed because I knew it was mine. I gave him crap for it the whole night. Next time I know not to just put chocolate and candy corns on one. I didn't know Spencer would be so into decorating! I'm excited for next time, I'll be more prepared! haha

I love the fall too! Those sound delicious though. I might have to try those and maybe even make a date night out of it too :)
